Data Transfer Workbench (DTW) Tips

Here are some helpful tips for working with DTW:

• Every version of SAP is released with a DTW version. It is recommended to always import into SAP from the same version level in DTW.
• Login using an SAP Super-user account with a Professional license.
• Perform importing of new data and updating of existing data separately. Performing both simultaneously typically has a pretty big performance hit.
• Tab delimited text files and ODBC connections work well for data work. A lot of client legacy data will contain either commas or semi-colons which will affect your import file adversely.
