As a hosted customer you might face the need to work remotely. In order to help you work with your SAP, we created this article to help you navigate the common problems and doubts you might face.
How hosting works?
In simple terms, our hosting works just like you are accessing a remote computer even when connecting from your work computer
How do I access SAP?
-
Remote Desktop – This is a windows software used to connect to a remote windows account where you can open your SAP
-
Remote App – This option looks like a normal icon on your computer. Behind the scenes is working just like the “Remote Desktop” but is invisible to the end-user
For both cases, you will need 2 sets of user/password:
-
SAP credentials – This is the normal SAP user and password used to connect to your SAP account
-
Hosted credentials – This is the user and password that will be used to connect to the remote computer
How to work remotely?
As explained before, when you are hosted with us, you will always use SAP remotely. The only difference that needs to be decided is if you will access your SAP via your home computer or by remotely connecting to your work computer.
This decision is something that must be done by your local IT and usually will be the same for all employees.
Work Computer – If you are remotely connecting to your work computer, there is nothing to be done from the SAP hosting perspective
Home Computer – Depending on how you usually access SAP, you will have to either configure the “Remote App” or the “Remote Desktop”
For either case, you will need to connect with your local IT. They will be able to help you out on how to proceed in this case.
If you need your hosting password reset, you can always ask us for a password reset (the SAP password can only be reset by your local SAP administrator).
Attachments
If you use SAP to attach files or you save reports as a PDF, there's an additional step to be performed in order to have access to the proper folders.
