If a user wants to export files from a hosted system, WebDav folders are used to facilitate the transfer from the hosted computer, to the local computer via the internet and vice versa.
Please map the WebDAV on local machine as followed: https://support.projectline.ca/hc/en-us/articles/360045461891-How-to-Map-WebDAV-Folders-Hosted-Users
Exporting PDF Steps
- Press the Export to PDF button in SAP. The PDF will save to the WebDav folder automatically and open a copy of the PDF.
- Open the local file explorer on the client laptop/computer
- Open the mapped WebDav folder
- Open the Attachments folder.
- Copy the file(s) to the final destination on the C: drive of the local computer or file server.
Exporting Excel Steps
- Press the Export to Excel button in SAP.
- A file explorer window will open asking where the file should be saved. The default location of the folder should be the WebDav folder. Save the file here. If not, please navigate to the WebDav file folder (path can be confirmed under Administration > System Initialization > General Settings > Path tab) and save the file in this location.
- Open the local file explorer on the client laptop/computer.
- Open the mapped WebDav folder.
- Open the Excel folder.
- Copy the file(s) to the final destination on the C: drive of the local computer or file server.
Additional Information
We do not recommend:
- Saving to any other location on the hosted system other than the WebDav folder. If this is done the file will not transfer.
- It is possible to save directly to the TSClient (Local computer) however this has been demonstrated to cause SAP exports to take considerably longer during which time SAP is unresponsive.
- Work directly within the WebDav folder. Please move the files to the final destination on either your machine or the file server before beginning to work with the files.
